Candyce Weir (she/her)
My grandmother always inspired me to create, seek adventure, and be unique. I fought that in my youth somewhat, always wanting to fit in…but it didn’t get me far. Travel taught me a new language, and how incredibly diverse we all are. I learned how to paint, ride a motorcycle and sail a boat! I revisited my acting career, and I never looked back. I began writing about what I knew. That led to my first book, followed by the film where I played every role behind the scenes. With that new knowledge behind the lens, it brought a bigger awareness to my performances in front of the camera. I love a good story, and I’m a huge fan of Indie films/shorts/documentaries/comedy and skits. *A film a was part of is screening at VIFF at the end of September (Mongrels).
